It was an advertising slogan used by Members Equity bank.

It is a catchy but misleading slogan.

Members Equity bank was established in July 2001. it is owned by a number of superannuation funds.

There is an alternative to being a customer and being treated like a member.

The alternative is being a customer and member - the owner of a credit union. The customers of credit unions are the members with one vote per member.

You are either a member or not a member of a financial institution. Why be like a member when you can be an actual member?
