In Bulletin For Rural Groups, April, 1955, the National Catholic Rural Movement, with National Headquarters at 252 Swanston Street, Melbourne, Victoria, included a report on Co-operative Societies.

The Bulletin noted that much information had already been given on the formation of credit societies and included a list of literature that should be obtained for preliminary study.

It noted that experience had proven that the best way to go about forming co-operatives was for 10-12 people to meet together every week for 5-6 weeks to study the literature. This to be followed by a publicity campaign and a public meeting.
