The Statement of Issues provides the ACC's preliminary views, drawing attention to particular issues of varying degrees of competition concern to the ACCC and identifies the lines of further inquiry that the ACCC wishes to undertake.
The Statement of Issues provides an opportunity for all interested parties (including customers, competitors, shareholders and other stakeholders) to ascertain and consider the issues identified by the ACCC.
The ACCC has identified as an issue of concern - Competition in the supply of flavoured milk in Queensland. It has identified the following as issues that may raise concerns - Supply of fresh milk in south east Queensland and the National supply of UHT white milk. It has identified the following isswues as unlikely to pose concern - Acquisition of raw milk in south-east Queensland and northern NSW, National supply of cheese and the National supply of custard.
Submissions are to be received by the ACCC no later than 7 August 2008. The ACCC intends to publicly announce its final view by 21 August 2008.
