CBH Group Commits to Co-operation

The co-operative CBH Group has committed itself to remaining a co-operative after assessing various model, The CBH Group has concluded that the co-operative structure provides the best outcome for growers in Western Australia and warns that other grain co-operatives that demutualised lost their focus on growers and, instead, were takenm over by multinational companies seeking to provide returns to external shareholders. Unrest at Former Co-op Continues

Farmer unrest continues at the former co-operative Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory. After the company cut and , then, reinstated milk prices when its suppliers started leaving the company. The Chief Executive Officer, Neil Kearney, has resigned. The warrnambool Standard quotes farmers as calling on the Chairman David Karpin to resign. Australian Cooperative Foods Demutualisation Ballot

Members of Australian Cooperative Foods Limited (ACF) are being asked to vote on the demutualisation of the co-operative. This follows the report from Grant Samuels & Associates which the ACF has described as an independent expert. The co-operative needs 75% or more of its active members to support demutualisation.
