WA Co-operatives Bill 2007

The Western Australia Parliament Co-operatives Bill 2007 is to progress to a Third Reading on 8 April 2008. The purpose of the Bill is to replace the existing Companies (Co-operative) Act 1943 and the Co-operative and Provident Societies Act 1903 with legislation that is reflective of the current commercial and social environment of co-operatives in Western Australia.

The Victorian Government has introduced the Co-operatives and Private Security Acts Amendment Bill 2008 which proposes to amend the Co-operatives Act 1996. The Bill was introduced into the Legislative Assembly on the 11 March 2008 and received its second reading speech on 13 March 2008.
