Co-operatives WA has announced an important partnership with three of the State's largest co-operatives and the University of Western Australia - with funding from the Federal Government. The research program will study - Sustainable Cooperative Enterprise: An Investigation into the Factors Influencing the Sustainability and Competitiveness of Co-operative Enterprises. Is West Australia's CBH Group conservative?

In "seeds sown for merger" (The Weekly Times, 2 April 2008 p 23) Peter Hemphill argues that the CBH board is conservative as a result of a recent board election. Time will tell, of course, as to whether or not the board is conservative and, if so, about what.

Fonterra in Australia and New Zealand

WAFarmers Dairy Section President Tony Pratico is calling for dairy co-operative Fonterra to reconsider their 2007/08 farm gate price increase.
